Always stretch out the pony band before using to test its metal clasp for strength. You might want to hold two bands together while making your scrunchie for extra security from breakage. Outer Circle Rnd 1: Attach red to pony band with sl st. Ch 1. 36 sc around. Sl st to first sc. Stretch band to evenly space stitches. Rnd 2: Ch 1. Sc in same stitch. * Ch 5. Sk 3 sc. Sc in next sc. Rep from * 8 more times. Ch 5. Sl st to first sc and in each of next 3 ch. Rnd 3: Ch 1. Sc in same ch-5 lp. * Ch 5. Sc in next ch-5 lp. Rep from * 7 more times. Ch 5. Sl st to first sc and into ch-5 lp. Rnd 4: In same lp, work (ch 3, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, hdc). In each remaining ch-5 lp, work (hdc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, hdc). Sl st to second ch of beg ch. Fasten off. Inner Circle Rnd 1: Attach white to any center sc of 3 skipped sc on first row. (Crochet while holding outer layer back out of the way.) * Ch 5, sc in next second sc of 3 skipped sc. Rep from * 7 more times. Ch 5. Sl st to beg sc and in ch-5 lp. Rnd 2: Rep Row 4 of Outer Circle.
