Materials
  • TLC Amore yarn, color Grape, 2 skeins
  • Caron Bliss yarn, color Snow, 1 skein
  • Hook sizes: 5.5mm [US I-9] and 6mm [US J-10]
  • Yarn needle (for weaving ends)

When working with TLC Amore, all stitches are worked in BACK LOOPS only. If you find that your last stitch is a little unstable, always work the last stitch of the row in both loops.

Row 1: With TLC Amore and smaller hook, ch 7, 2 sc in second ch from hook and in each rem ch, ch 1, turn. 12 sc

Row 2: 2 sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. 24 sc

Row 3: Sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * across, ch 2, turn. 36 sc

Row 4: Hdc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. 36 hdc

Row 5: Sc in each hdc, with 2 sc in every third hdc, ch 1, turn. 48 sc

Row 6: Sc in each sc, with 2 sc in every fourth sc, ch 2, turn. 60 sc

Row 7: Hdc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. 60 hdc

Row 8: Sc in each hdc, with 2 sc in every fifth hdc, ch 1, turn. 72 sc

Row 9: Sc in each sc, with 2 sc in every sixth sc, ch 1, turn. 84 sc

Rep Rows 7 through 9, increasing by 12 sc in each rep of Rows 8 and 9. Row 7 is worked in hdc and has no increasing. You can continue in this manner until the tree skirt reaches the size you would like. My tree skirt measures approximately 4 feet across.

After working the final row, ch 1 and beg working along the sides of the rows made to "clean up" the edges. Sc evenly across the edges. Cut off.

With larger hook, join Caron Bliss with sl st to any corner made by last row. Working only around the outside "circle" of the tree skirt, * ch 1, sl st into next st, rep from * across. When you reach the other side, cut off. Weave in all ends carefully.
